The Grant Company

A specialty design-build contractor with an outdated three-page website that wasn't reflecting the quality of their work or helping them compete online. We transformed their digital presence into a strategic marketing tool that showcases their craftsmanship, explains the design-build process, and positions them as a premier contractor for wineries and churches across Oregon.

The Project

Based in Mt. Angel, Oregon, The Grant Company has earned a reputation for delivering thoughtfully crafted wineries and churches throughout Oregon. Their work demonstrated an exceptional level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and technical expertise, but their online presence told a very different story.

Their website consisted of only a few pages, making it difficult for potential clients to understand who they were, what made them different, or why they specialized in complex design-build projects. More importantly, the limited content meant they struggled to compete in organic search against larger construction companies with more robust websites.

For specialty contractors, a website is often the first opportunity to establish credibility. The Grant Company's website wasn't communicating the experience, process, or expertise that had earned them their reputation. The challenge wasn't simply creating a better-looking website. It was building a digital foundation that could support future growth, improve search visibility, and position them as a leader in Oregon's design-build industry.

Our Approach

Before designing the website, we focused on understanding how potential clients evaluate a contractor. Winery owners, church leadership teams, and other commercial clients aren't simply hiring a builder—they're choosing a long-term partner to guide a complex construction project. The website needed to build confidence long before the first conversation.

Our strategy centered around three priorities.

Positioning The Grant Company as a specialty contractor. Rather than presenting the company as another general contractor, we highlighted their expertise in winery and church construction while clearly communicating the advantages of the design-build delivery method. Every page was written to reinforce their experience, craftsmanship, and collaborative approach.

Creating a website that works as a business development tool. We restructured the site's information architecture and messaging so visitors could quickly understand their services, specialties, and process. The result is a clearer buyer journey that educates prospective clients while helping qualify the right opportunities.

Building a strong SEO foundation. As a studio specializing in construction web design and AEC web design, we know that many contractors lose work simply because they're difficult to find online. We developed a content structure, messaging strategy, and on-page SEO foundation designed to help The Grant Company compete more effectively in search while supporting long-term visibility as the site continues to grow.

The Outcome

The Grant Company now has a website that reflects the same level of care and craftsmanship they bring to every project. Instead of acting as a simple online brochure, the site communicates their expertise, educates prospective clients about the design-build process, and positions the company as a trusted partner for wineries and churches throughout Oregon.

Although the website launched recently, it has already begun attracting attention from the right audience. While long-term SEO results take time to develop, the project established the digital foundation necessary for sustainable organic growth and stronger search visibility.

This project demonstrates an important lesson for specialty contractors: exceptional work alone isn't enough. Strategic construction company web design, clear messaging, and a thoughtful SEO strategy help ensure the right clients can find you, understand your expertise, and feel confident reaching out.
